In our first workshop of the month you will be learning some of the ins and outs of handmade soap making, including techniques such as hand-milling and melt-and-pour soap making. The materials used in this workshop come from organic sources when possible, and the soaps created are 100% biodegradable and palm oil free.

In this workshop, hosted by Diane Cartwright you will learn why Darjeeling Tea is so prized by connoisseurs. You will taste a number of Darjeeling teas from different flushes and gardens – learn a little about history, agriculture, social and political context of the world-famous origin of the Champagne of Teas.

In this workshop you will learn how to flush out winter’s heaviness, shed a few pounds, increase your energy, boost your mood and lessen seasonal allergies, all by incorporating liver supporting foods in your diet and alkalizing the body.

In this workshop, participants will taste single herbs as well as herbal blends. Information will be presented on scientifically studied properties of herbs, growing methods and contraindications.

For those of you who many not be familiar with me, my name is Emily Chow and I am the newest addition to the Grassroots workforce as the workshop co-ordinator. I’m currently a student at George Brown College in a Special Events Management program so I’m excited to have the opportunity gain experience in my field as well as expose Grassroots’ customers to a variety of eco-oriented workshops.
